Catherine Lewis, LSCSW, LCSW

Catherine has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas.

She is licensed in Kansas and Missouri as a Clinical Specialist and has worked as a therapist throughout the metropolitan area.  She has been working in private practice since 2007. Catherine has been an invaluable referral source for Pediatricians, PCPs, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and schools.  Although she has extensive training in trauma and attachment issues, Catherine specializes in working with ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, autism and complex grief Issues.

Catherine’s use of various therapeutic modalities to respectfully connect with children, adolescents and adults is her hallmark signature treatment approach.  She utilizes Mindfulness Training, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Art Therapy and Collaborative Problem Solving as part of her repertoire.  She is also certified in DBT training (mindfulness combined with cognitive behavioral approach) and Theraplay (techniques designed to enhance attachment).

Throughout her years of practice, Catherine has observed an increase in anxiety and difficulty in children and adults with emotional regulation. She has been disappointed in medication effectiveness in treating many people with these diagnoses.  Thus, in 2015 she completed an intensive training in Neurofeedback to expand care for her clients.  Catherine is currently integrating Neurofeedback into her therapeutic practice.
