Kevin has a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Kansas.
He is licensed in Kansas as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri since 1995. He started his career working with individuals fresh out of the penitentiary in a halfway house. Over the last 20 years, he has spent time in management working for a community mental health center, as well as a program for individuals with developmental disabilities. Kevin has been in private practice twice and worked with Eli Lilly in the late 90’s.
Kevin’s clinical training includes brain integration strategies and techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, play therapy, and attachment focused therapy. He values a holistic and client-centered approach focusing on creating a safe and healing environment for all people to grow. He considers himself a lifelong learner with interests in neuroplasticity, the healing power of connection, brain-based therapy, movement therapy, and mindfulness.
Kevin specializes in working with anxiety and depression issues. He has had extensive training in trauma and attachment issues with children. His approach is eclectic.
Disappointed with the limitations of medication and counseling techniques alone, Kevin was trained in neurofeedback and now uses it in conjunction with his other modalities.
